International Consultant

Consultant & senior advisor to several organizations such as  UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), International Labour Organization (ILO), UNICEF, International Organization for Migration (IOM), Centre for Sport and Human Rights (CSHR) among others. 




2021 - 2022

Administrator for Global Fund Project - HIV / TB in the Community at CAMNAFAW, Cameroon (NFM3)

Administrator of the Global Fund Project at the Cameroon Association of Family Welfare (CAMNAFAW) on behalf of IPPF and Global Fund for the temporary management of EUR 31 million Global Fund Programme for HIV and TB in the Community. CAMNAFAW is the Principal Recipient (PR) responsible for implementing HIV/TB interventions in the community under a grant of EUR 31 million from the Global Fund.



2009 - 2018

African Union - Director of the Department of Social Affairs

Joined the African Union Commission (AUC) in October 2009 as Director of the Department of Social Affairs. The Department of Social Affairs is one of the largest Departments and most diverse at the AUC with a portfolio that includes the provision of strategic leadership, technical guidance and ensuring efficient functioning of six (6) supervised Divisions – (a) Health Nutrition & Population; (b) HIV TB & Malaria; (c) Labor, Employment & Migration; (d) Social Welfare, Narcotic Control & Crime Prevention; (e) Culture; and (f) Sport.

As Director, and with the support of my team, the Department of Social Affairs delivered on its mandate to the African Union (AU) Member States and the people of Africa. In October 2009, the Department had about 10 Professional Staff and an annual program budget of less US$2million. At the end of my term in March 2018, there were 85 Professional and 50 support staff and a program budget of over US$50 million annually.

Nigerian Foreign Service - Foreign Service Officer

Joined the Nigerian Diplomatic Service in 1983, with overseas postings in Europe, Middle East, North America and Africa between 1983 and 2009. At the time of departure in 2009 for the African Union Commission, as Ambassador and Director in charge of matters relating to Organized Crime, Money Laundering, Narcotic Drugs and Terrorism; and Head, Fifth Committee Matters relating to Administrative and Budgetary issues of the United Nations.
